In a recent visit to that place, the regional technical advisor of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) dedicated to Climate Change Adaptation, Montserrat Xilotl Soberón, evaluated as positive the quality and integrity of the training program.
She highlighted the potentialities of the group in the Ramón Domínguez de la Peña elementary school, in the town of Júcaro, in Ciego de Avila, who is in charge of providing knowledge to families and local directors so that they can face and mitigate the damages in the event of extreme weather phenomena.
The specialist valued as positive the communicative products designed and the sensitivity to transmit, through different artistic expressions, messages in favor of environmental care, mostly aimed at protecting wetlands and coastal ecosystems.
The Mi Costa project, funded by the Green Climate Fund and the Cuban Government, aims to rehabilitate the ecosystem and build capacity to adapt to climate change in a town threatened by rising sea levels and the likelihood of extreme hydro-meteorological events.
