Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Wang Wenbin described the statements as defamatory and urged to maintain a constructive attitude and work with Beijing to ensure cyber security. “China is a major victim of cyberattacks, firmly opposes and cracks down on cyberattacks in all forms under the law. We will not encourage, support, or tolerate hacker attacks,” the spokesperson stressed.
Wang warned that transferring bloc confrontation to cybersecurity issues will undermine the international community’s efforts to unite and combat threats in this area.
Dutch intelligence agencies stated on Tuesday that China-backed cyberspies gained access to a Dutch military network last year, calling it part of a trend of Chinese political spying campaign against Amsterdam and its allies.
