Wang said bilateral relations have stood the test of international situations, maintained stability and growth, explored a successful path featuring equality, innovation, and mutual benefit, and are of exemplary significance for Beijing’s relations with Western countries.

Cassis, in turn, said he expressed his pleasure to visit China before the Spring Festival and wished the Chinese people a happy Dragon’s Year.

He also recalled that Switzerland was one of the first Western countries to establish diplomatic relations with Beijing and acknowledge the one-China policy.

He added that the differences between the two nations do not affect cooperation, and their relationship is solid.

The two foreign ministers called for deepening cooperation in finance, science and technology, education, intellectual property rights, climate change, green development, and ice and snow sports.
