Mexican President begins to explain Constitutional reforms

Mexico City, Feb 6 (Prensa Latina) In his usual morning conferences at the National Palace, Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador began today a cycle to explain the scope of the constitutional reforms presented to Congress.

The Secretary of the Interior, Luisa María Alcalde, will be in charge of the task, and the purpose is to explain to Mexicans what the reforms consist of, how they benefit them, and the details of each of the 18 reforms to the Magna Carta and two to general laws, explained the leader.

The motivation is also political, since detailing each one of the reforms, explaining their scope and viability, will serve to confront and disprove the misrepresentations and ill-intentioned interpretations of his adversaries, who are already using them as weapons against the government at this moment of electoral campaign, he expressed.

He said that they are not going to give time to the political opposition to use them in favor of their interests and to distort not only their content but also their social objectives for the benefit of the population.

He considered that it is very important to inform everything concerning the package that the opposition has already announced that it will oppose its approval in Congress, in order to make it difficult for them to damage and attack us, as they always try to do with every work that is finished and delivered to the people.
