First Deputy Minister of Communications Wilfredo González Vidal detailed, during a videoconference with Spanish and Cuban businessmen residing in Spain, the domains in which there is potential to deepen existing or new types of collaboration ties.
Vidal explained that there are possibilities of developing joint models with Spain. “Joint projects could be marketed in Latin America due to the language facilities that the two nations share,” he said.
In his introductory words, González Vidal mentioned among Cuba’s strengths the formation of human capital, which offers a space in a sphere in which there is great competitiveness.
In this regard, he referred to the boost in Big Data, Blockchain, in the Cuban software industry in general and the growing role of over 260 private Micro,Small and Middle sized Enterprises (MSMEs) in IT activities.
Vidal seized the opportunity to highlight the importance that Cuba attaches to data protection, an essential element of guarantee in a constructive work climate.
During the exchange between Cuba and Spain, businessmen expressed interest and at the same time their concerns regarding cooperation and investments in the area. Some of the issues brought forth during the event were Artificial Intelligence and linked platforms for medical services.
