The news agency Télam noted that the people gathered near the Ministry of Human Capital and took up more than 20 blocks waiting to be attended by the head of that portfolio, Sandra Pettovello, and to ask for assistance for community canteens.
In turn, through the social network X, the Ministry communicated that the requests must be made through the established channels.
Last week, Pettovello refused to receive representatives of organizations such as UTEP and asked each hungry citizen to come with his or her identity card or write to an e-mail address.
The spokesman of the Argentine Presidency, Manuel Adorni, assured the holder did not call or summon anyone.
‘We are making the hunger line to make visible and denounce the food emergency situation which is not only in the surroundings of the Obelisk, but it is an urgency at national level’, told Télam the secretary of the UTEP Johanna Duarte.
Similar actions are taking place in several provinces of this country.
Today, the Argentine Episcopal Conference warned that hundreds of thousands of families have problems to feed themselves well and asserted that ‘food cannot be an adjustment variable’.
For this reason, it demanded immediate assistance for soup kitchens and other social and religious institutions.
