The first unit in Curicica, at the Raphael de Paula Souza Family Clinic.
The second and third center, respectively, remain at the Lincoln de Freitas Filho Polyclinic, in Santa Cruz, and at the Belisario Pena health post, in Campo Grande, both in the West Zone.
During the opening of the center in Curicica, the Minister of Health, Nísia Trindade, asked for the population’s collaboration to prevent the disease from spreading in the city.
The state of Rio de Janeiro registered 17,544 cases of dengue fever in January. The number is 12 times higher than that recorded in the same month of 2023 (1,441).
Of the 92 municipalities in the state of Rio de Janeiro, 14 have an incidence rate above 500 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.
The symptoms of the disease are: high fever, joint pain, pain behind the eyes and spots on the skin.
