The General Secretary of Communists of Serbia, Dejan Jovanovic, and the member of the Department of International Cooperation, Arijana Kolunzić, told Cuban Ambassador to Serbia Leyde Ernesto Rodriguez Hernandez on that decision.
During the meeting, the Cuban diplomat thanked the Communists of Serbia for their interest in an event attended by left-wing organizations from all five continents.
Rodriguez Hernandez considered that the forum will take place in a complex international scenario, with wars in Europe and the Middle East, in particular, the genocide against the Palestinian people in Gaza, which has already killed more than 27,000 people, including 12,000 children.
He added that it also occurs when the economic, social and environmental crisis in the world persists, without the dominant capitalist system being able to guarantee peace, security and the solution of the global problems that affect humanity.
The Communists of Serbia have maintained for many years their militant solidarity in the struggle against the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States against Cuba and in rejection of Cuba’s arbitrary inclusion in Washington’s State Sponsors of Terrorism list.
The aforementioned leftist party also attended the 22nd International Meeting of Communist and Workers’ Parties, held in Havana in October 2022.
