The African Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) noted that the health dialogue between the African Union (AU) and the EU, which will run until February 7, marks an important milestone in the ongoing collaboration to strengthening health systems and improving public care.
Africa CDC General Director Jean Kasenya said on X that collectively, they are ready to collaborate with the European team to advance international efforts for health research and innovation, and strengthen disease surveillance and response systems, as well as to improve laboratory capacity and ensure greater accessibility to vaccines and essential medicines.
The African Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is a public health agency of the African Union that supports member states’ initiatives and strengthens the capacity of their institutions to address disease threats.
