As revealed by the Al Mayadeen pan-Arab channel, the Hamas movement is carrying out a series of consultations with the Palestinian factions and their regional allies and friends after receiving the framework document presented following the meeting in Paris.
The director of the US Central Intelligence Agency, William Burns, and senior officials from Egypt, Qatar and Israel held talks last week with French officials regarding a six-week truce agreement in Gaza.
Sources explained to Al Mayadeen that the proposal did not clearly stipulate a detainee exchange mechanism and ignored the issue of a definitive ceasefire and Israel’s departure from the Gaza Strip.
They commented that there is no clause to stop the war after the end of the truce or regional or international guarantees, while Israeli statements confirm their intention to establish a buffer zone; they also affirmed that there is no clear commitment to the issue of reconstruction and the security of the displaced, but rather it is a general title.
According to Al Mayadeen, the Palestinian Resistance seeks to prevent Israel’s intentions to remain in Gaza, complicate the reconstruction process and provoke clashes with the people.
The Resistance reaffirmed its position of demanding a real, practical and guaranteeing mechanism that effectively leads to the end of the aggression and the withdrawal of the occupation of Gaza, and confirmed to Al Mayadeen that it will not hand over the most powerful card it has: the military prisoners, without a guarantee of a definitive ceasefire and complete Israeli withdrawal, and without agreeing on reconstruction files and lifting the siege.
