The Foreign Ministry disclosed that the sides reviewed the agenda of the upcoming international meeting on the situation in Afghanistan, to be held in Doha, Qatar, as well as the report from the United Nations Special Coordinator for the country, Feridun Sinirlioğlu.
Foreign Ministry Deputy Spokesman Hafiz Ahmad stated that Muttaqi expressed the position of the Islamic Emirate (Taliban government) again regarding UN Security Council Resolution 2721.
The resolution addresses the current humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan and criticizes violations of basic rights such as access to education and work for women.
The Afghan diplomat emphasized the need for constructive interaction between Kabul and the United Nations.
Minister Muttaqi asked the Unama to hold a press conference on the Doha agenda, and tated that the Islamic Emirate’s delegation will consider its participation in the Qatar meeting on the basis of its results, the spokesman said.
