Uruguay offers support to Chile due to the recent fires

Montevideo, Feb 4 (Prensa Latina) The Uruguayan government expressed its solidarity with the Chilean people and regretted the victims and affected people by the fires that Chile is facing, it was reported today.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated this in a message on X social network, and offered its “support to the (Chilean) authorities in these hard moments”.

The day before, the President of Chile, Gabriel Boric, reported that the death toll from the forest fires in the central region of Valparaiso rose to 46 and warned that the number will surely increase.

After touring the areas affected by the fires, the president urged the inhabitants of those places to comply without delay with the alerts issued by the National Service for Disaster Prevention and Response (Senapred) and to evacuate their homes in view of the proximity of the flames.

Regarding the origin of the fires, he assured that the possible intentionality is being investigated and warned that they will reach to the bottom of the inquiries.
