The SDF irregulars received a heavy blow when they were forced to withdraw from the Al-Tanak oil field, the second largest in the country, following an offensive by the so-called Arab Tribal Forces in the east of the northeastern province of Deir Ezzor, local activists said.
They added that the separatist group fled its positions in some of the schools it had taken as its headquarters, and its gunmen headed for the Al-Omar oil field, where US forces are illegally deployed.
Likewise, the armed tribesmen launched a surprise attack on the town of Abu Al-Nital, in northern Deir Ezzor, and managed to expel the SDF after inflicting heavy casualties on them and several of their war vehicles were lost.
Two other tribal attacks were reported on the headquarters in Jabal al-Busayra, and SDF positions in the vicinity of the town of Dhiban on the eastern bank of the Euphrates River.
