Frente Amplio of Uruguay continues to lead electoral survey

Montevideo, Feb 1 (Prensa Latina) Eight months before the national elections, the opposition Frente Amplio (FA) has the majority in citizen perception in Uruguay, according to a survey conducted by the Montevideo Portal publication.

“If the national elections were held today, which party would you vote for?” was the question asked to users from January 23rd to 30th, a period in which 20,618 responses were counted, according to the source.

Based on the survey, the FA would prevail in October 2024 with 48.96 percent of the votes, much higher than the 39.01 percent it reached in 2019, when it won the first round, but as it did not reach 50 percent of the votes it became necessary to hold a second round, as a result of which Luis Lacalle Pou won the presidency.

The survey showed little change in internal party elections.

The mayor of Canelones, Yamandú Orsi, continues to lead among the presidential candidates for Frente Amplio.

The same occurs with the former Secretary of the Presidency, Álvaro Delgado, for the ruling National Party, meanwhile, the strong leadership of the Colorado Party is represented by Robert Silva, former president of the National Public Education Administration.
