Several people were killed and injured in the explosion, which occurred near Ghulam Nabi Chowk, in Turbat, according to the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) news agency.
A private news channel reported that the police had confirmed the incident, but have not yet determined the type of explosive device used.
As soon as the incident was reported, a large contingent of police and security forces arrived at the scene, cordoned off the area and launched a search operation, APP added.
On Thursday, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) declared February 8, polling day, a public holiday in order to give voters the opportunity to cast their votes freely.
In a statement, the ECP pointed out that the holiday is contemplated in the Electoral Law of 2017.
Likewise, it was learned that the District Monitoring Offices imposed sanctions on individuals for violating the code of conduct of the upcoming elections.
