EU Council President Charles Michel made the statement on social media a few minutes after the beginning of the meeting, Le Soir informed.
At the same time, the EU will approve annually the budget payments to Ukraine as part of the support program, as demanded by Hungary, the newspaper reported.
Before starting the summit, Belgian Prime Minister Alexander De Croo said the 50 billion euro aid to Ukraine would go towards weapons and teachers’ salaries.
EU leaders will also discuss the transparency of Kiev’s spending and the additional support for another 20 billion euros.
