On his X account, the head of State recalled that social networks were full of memories and memorable photos on Wednesday by students from that major institution, founded by the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro.
On January 31, 1974, Fidel Castro, together with the then general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, Leonid Brezhnev, inaugurated the Vocational School in Havana, aimed at stimulating the students’ potential.
Students are admitted after a rigorous selection based on the high grades they get in primary and secondary education according to their school record.
“La Lenin,” as it is known nationwide, was the beginning for the creation of similar institutions in the rest of the country.
