Speaking during a workshop on social responsibility projects in the extractive industry, Massano stressed their importance not only for the country’s economic growth, but also for the diversification promoted by the government.

“We have to build an economy with a diversified, dynamic and inclusive productive base, for which the mineral resources, oil and gas sector is essential,” said the Secretary of State and remarked the need to support the food and raw materials production chain for industrialization.

“Our country has favorable conditions, such as the availability of arable land, a favorable climate, water, as well as agricultural tradition”, he listed and added that agriculture and its value chain is a guarantee of food security, a source of employment and an increase in family income.

It also reduces dependence on external factors and provides more products for export.

He said that these reasons were in the analysis of the budget for 2024, within which they increased more than 80 percent to this area compared to 2023.
