The representatives of those regions discussed and dispelled doubts about the initiative with President Santiago Peña whose decision to submit it to Congress on Monday generated criticism and divisions among sectors that claim to be affected by the new measure, according to the HOY newspaper.
The group of regional leaders had met with the highest authorities headed by the president, and expressed their satisfaction afterwards; as they cleared all their doubts after the announcement of the bill, the head of the Council of Governors Norma Zarate stated at a press conference.
The further leader of the executive in the southwestern department of Paraguari described the Zero Hunger in Schools initiative as “the most ambitious project” of the current Government, and heeded that its main beneficiaries are school-age children from all over the country.
