In a statement, Foreign Minister Gabriela Sommerfeld said that Abad is not authorized to make statements to the media on Ecuador´s foreign policy or President Daniel Noboa´s administration.

In accordance with article 59 of the Foreign Service, the diplomatic missions, as organs of international relations, depend directly on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and only the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is responsible for giving orders and instructions to them, the document detailed.

The statement came after Abad gave an interview from Tel Aviv to the Colombian radio station W Radio, in which she insinuated that President Noboa was not fulfilling his campaign promises.
