António traveled to Kinshasa on Monday to convey a verbal message from the Angolan head of state, expressing the desire to continue deepening bilateral relations, including issues of mutual interest at regional and international levels.
The dispatch also recalled that both countries are members of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) and the African Union (AU), and have maintained contacts at the highest levels on issues related to peace, stability and security in the region.
On January 24th, the president of Angola had a telephone conversation with Tshisekedi, with whom he discussed topics of regional issues and the strengthening of bilateral relations.
The Angolan leader also attended on January 20th the inauguration of the reelected head of state of the DRC, held at the Martyr’s Stadium in Kinshasa.
Angola has ratified at different times its commitment to peace and security in the east of that country, with which it shares borders, and to prioritize attention and search for solutions to the conflict in the region as part of its actions at the head of the SADC and the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region.
