Prensa Latina and Hispanic American Press Congress strengthen ties

Havana, Jan 30 (Prensa Latina) Prensa Latina and the Hispanic American Press Congress of New York signed a collaboration agreement in this capital on Tuesday to promote academic and journalistic exchange.

The document was penned by Luis Enrique González, president of the Latin American News Agency, and his counterpart from the Hispanic American Press Congress, Amín Cruz, who promised to invite Prensa Latina to all international events organized by that union.

González confirmed to Cruz the decision to make Prensa Latina available to the New York association, with a presence in more than 30 countries, and to promote the dissemination of the information agenda that gives priority to the Global South.

Recently, the Hispanic American Press Congress praised Prensa Latina for its work at the service of the truth for nearly 65 years of existence, for its ethical performance and for “being a source of light for present and future generations of journalists.”

He highlighted how the news agency broke the communication paradigms that prevailed in the 20th century, and how it still does so in the 21st century, and its ability to cross borders at the service of truth.

The distinction, the first one granted by the Hispanic American Press Congress in its 26 years of existence, was granted last week during the New Operation Truth International Conference, which Prensa Latina organized in Havana with the presence of dozens of media professionals from thirty countries.
