Quoting the Ministry of Health, the G1 portal reveals that in this period there were 12 deaths due to the disease and 85 are still under investigation.

It indicates that vaccination against the disease should begin in February, but it will not be uniform because it will depend on the availability of doses. In total, about 500 municipalities in 16 states were included in the vaccination campaign.

On January 20, Brazil received the first batch of vaccines against dengue for application by the Unified Health System. The shipment contained 750,000 doses of the Qdenga immunizer, donated by the Japanese laboratory Takeda Pharma.

According to the Government, these first quantities will be destined for adolescents between 10 and 14 years of age living in cities with more than 100 thousand inhabitants.

The definition of the public that will receive the doses takes into account transmission rates.

Initially, the Government stated that priority would be given to vaccinating children and young people between six and 14 years of age.

However, in a statement released later by the Ministry of Health, it specified that the target public of the first batch will be individuals between 10 and 14 years of age.
