The official’s statement came at the graduation ceremony of students of medicine and related fields at the José Assef Yara University, in the Cuban province of Ciego de Avila.
She explained that Cuba has set up a plan for 69 medical specialties, mainly the basic ones: internal medicine, pediatrics, gynecology and obstetrics, and intensive care.
The local media reported that the training of integral professionals to promote the development of the country at its highest level, with a high humanistic sense, is an essential premise in Cuba’s Medical Science centers.
