Havana, Jan 29 (Prensa Latina) The William Soler Children's Hospital and the Institute of Gastroenterology received donations from CodePink and Bridges of Love, US organizations in favor of ending Washington's blockade against Cuba.

This weekend, the William Soler Hospital received 1,000 pounds of powdered milk, while the Gastroenterology Institute received 71,000 pancreatin tablets for patients suffering from cystic fibrosis.

According to a post from Bridges of Love Coordinator Carlos Lazo, the delivery was also a tribute to the Apostle of Cuban Independence and National Hero, José Martí, on his 171st birthday on January 28.

In addition, it was another gesture by these entities against the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed unilaterally by the United States on Cuba for more than six decades, he noted.

Speaking to Prensa Latina from the plane that carried him to Havana, Lazo said, “We will continue to support the Cuban family and people. We will continue to open holes to the blockade.”

The activist, based in Seattle, thanked the Cuban patriotic emigration for their contribution to make this collective effort a reality.
