After 1959 Rivero was a teacher at the Revolutionary Instruction Schools (EIR) and the Makarenko Schools. She graduated as Doctor in Philosophy and Letters at the University of Havana, where she taught ancient and middle history and created the Department of Philosophy, according to a note from the SEAP.
She also held the position of vice-dean of the Faculty of Philosophy and History of the same university, created the initial group of professors of Marxism and Leninism, directed the Institute of Social Sciences of the Academy of Sciences of Cuba and was the first woman to preside the SEAP.
This society also informed that as part of this Monday’s program, Dr. Francisca López will give a lecture on Fidel’s discursive strategy in the Caravan of Freedom, that will kick off the conference “Fidel, ardent prophet of the dawn”, which will take place throughout 2024 in commemoration of the 65th anniversary of the triumph of the Cuban Revolution.
