France condemns Israeli’s proposal of colonizing Gaza

Paris, Jan 29 (Prensa Latina) France’s Government condemned on Monday the holding yesterday of a conference in Jerusalem, where members of the Israeli extreme right promoted the colonization of the Gaza Strip and the expulsion of Palestinians from that enclave.

In a statement, the Foreign Ministry underscored that a dozen ministers had participated in the forum, and added that it expects a clear denunciation of such positions by Israeli authorities.

France recalls in that regard that the International Court of Justice recently enunciated Israel’s obligation to take all possible measures to prevent this type of intentions, it added.

Ministers, including the extremist head of National Security, Itamar Ben Gvir, and parliamentarians called for colonizing again Gaza, a Palestinian territory in which the occupiers dismantled their settlements in 2005, at the end of the ongoing conflict.

According to Paris, it is not a decision of the Israeli Government where Palestinians should live.

The future of the Gaza Strip and its inhabitants will be in a unified Palestinian State living in peace and security alongside Israel, the FM assured.
