According to the state news agency KCNA, Kim Jong Un, who is also the supreme commander of the Korean People’s Army (KPA), expressed his satisfaction with the results of the test, carried out from two submarines and the second one in less than a week.
Kim stressed that the current international situation and threats make it necessary to strengthen the national defense system and affirmed that progress in this regard is crucial for the modernization of the KPA.
The successful launch (of those two missiles) clearly demonstrated that a great new era in strengthening the country’s naval force is beginning, he said.
According to the DPRK Missile Administration, the test had no impact on the security of neighboring nations.
The first test launch of the Pulhwasal-3-31 missile was conducted on Wednesday last week as part of “regular and mandatory” activities to develope and modernize the defense system, KCNA recalled.
