Electric vehicles are taking hold in the market with great impetus, following the global trend, the association underscored, according to which SUVs almost quadrupled their sales.
By 2023, supply soared by 45% and prices fell, the report pointed out. After SUVs, the top sellers were utility cars and then trucks. Electric vehicles recorded an 11.4% average drop in their prices measured in dollars compared to 2022.
The ACAU deems that the trend will keep their value down.The department of Montevideo concentrates most of the supply of electric cars with 62%. Canelones and Maldonado follow far behind.
