We celebrate the life of someone who was a fervent defender of Bolivar’s thought, a great writer, intellectual and politician, admired in the world for his honesty, sensitivity and commitment to the people’s cause, the Venezuelan head of State wrote on his X account.
On the same social network, Foreign Minister Yván Gil stated that “as a reminder that, even amid adversities, we can continue to transform the world,” in reference to the 171st birthday of Cuba’s National Hero on Sunday. The head of Venezuelan diplomacy pointed out that Jose Marti, aka the Cuban Apostle, was a “great intellectual leader and passionate about reading,” and stressed that Marti advocated for the unity of all Cubans against Spanish oppression and “firmly believed in the need for free and sovereign Cuba.”
