The movement issued a statement reaffirming its commitment to continue its operations against the US occupation in the region in response to the Israeli massacres in the Gaza Strip.
The Resistance previously announced actions against the US enclave of Ain al-Asad in the west of the country, and released a video of a drone being launched towards the US base near the Erbil airport in northern Iraq.
The Iraqi Resistance expanded its targets amid the aggression in Gaza and carried out operations against targets in Israel after attacking the port of Ashdod using an unmanned aircraft.
The secretary general of the Sayyid al-Shuhada Brigades in Iraq, Abu Ala al-Walai, announced that the Resistance entered the second phase of its operations, which will include blocking Israel’s maritime navigation in the Mediterranean Sea and taking its ports out of service.
Days ago, the headquarters of the Popular Mobilization Forces in the Al-Qaim area, on the Syrian border, and in Jurf al-Nasr, south of Baghdad, were targetted by US strikes, resulting in the death of Ali Anwar Sabih al-Saadi.
Following the attack, the spokesman for the Commander in Chief of the country’s Armed Forces, Yahya Rasoul, warned that Iraq will treat these acts as aggressions and will take all necessary measures to preserve the lives and dignity of the people.
