In his speech, the president stood out the start-up of the Dos Bocas refinery, which will contribute to the processing of approximately 280,000 oil barrels per day, which turns out to be among the most ambitious projects of his administration, the head of State told the press.
Lopez Obrador deemed that the upcoming head of Government must advance in the energy modernization plan as of October 1, which includes the rehabilitation of the main operating plants, with emphasis on Deer Park, Dos Bocas, Salina Cruz and the Tula coker plants, which will be ready by the end of the six-year term.
According to La Jornada daily, the president stated that it is pivotal for the State to keep those strategic companies, and he referred to the country’s projection in this sector as well, recommending the acquisition of other facilities in the sector after calculating their contribution to the country’s economy.
Lopez Obrador noted that concerning the future, if the rescue plan continues, if investments pursue year after year, it is possible to reach 65% to 80% of maximum production, since there is capacity to process up to 1,200,000 oil barrels in those refineries, as he based his forecast on the current generation of 800,000 barrels of crude oil.
