According to the news agency, on Monday at 14:00, local time, the Union of Workers of the Popular Economy will host a meeting of representatives of several groups that will participate in a national day of struggle scheduled for Thursday.
Supporters of the initiative will denounce the lack of food in soup kitchens and the effects of an adjustment plan of Javier Milei’s government which implied a 118 percent devaluation, the elimination of subsidies, the dismissal of personnel from state entities and the end of public works.
According to Telam, the day’s protest will include demonstrations at supermarkets, demands to the Coordinadora de las Industrias de Productos Alimenticios, popular pots and delivery of petitions to government offices.
Among the organizations that will be represented are Movimiento Evita, Corriente Clasista y Combativa, Somos Barrios de Pie, Libres del Sur, Frente Popular Darío Santillán and Movimiento Popular La Dignidad.
