Anguilla collects weapons in a campaign against crime

The Valley, Jan 26 (Prensa Latina) Anguilla will give citizens two weeks to put down weapons and ammunition illegally circulating in the country as part of its campaign against crime and violence, the media reported on Friday.

According to the Loops Caribbean website, the Anguilla Government will soon provide more details on the campaign.

It also informed that the weapons will be collected between January 29 and February 11.

During that period, those who kept unlicensed weapons could go to the police to surrender them without risk of sanction.

While the amnesty lasts, authorities will not open an investigation, nor will they add the illegal possession of ammunition to the legal records of those who surrender it voluntarily to police agents.
