According to PAHO, the collaboration will focus on three main goals: to support the development of competencies, strengthen the management of hospital processes and advance in the transformation towards sustainable, climate-resilient health care with zero net greenhouse gas emissions.
The Director of PAHO, Dr. Jarbas Barbosa, explained that along with the Federation they hope to strengthen hospital executives in the region to achieve leadership for the future: innovative, comprehensive, patient-centered services based on sustainability.
They will further provide guidance on hospital restructuring and improvement on the provision of specialized care to ensure adequate accessibility to services, including emergency, operative, critical and ambulatory care.
In addition, the collaboration seeks to expand digital health services, encouraging innovative approaches to enhance healthcare delivery.
