At a meeting at the National Capitol, ANPP Vice President Ana María Mari Machado and the secretary general of the Communist Party of Spain (PCE) and a lawmaker in the Spanish Congress, Enrique Santiago, also called for stronger ties between parties.
According to the ANPP official website, Mari Machado listed the National Assembly’s work priorities for 2024, particularly, in bilateral relations with her counterparts in Spain.
She expressed gratitude to Santiago for his support in Cuba’s battle for the end of the United States blockade and against Cuba’s arbitrary inclusion on the State Department’s State Sponsors of Terrorism (SSOT) unilateral list.
Mari Machado reaffirmed the need to promote parliamentary work in view of the situation in Palestine, due to Israel’s aggression, and in favor of the just causes of the world, the source added.
Santiago, in turn, underscored the favorable relations with the Cuban legislature and expressed the intentions to strengthen alliances in common interests and in the confrontation of the imperialist offensive, with a relevant vision of the principles of respect in mechanisms of international cooperation. He also summarized the strategies to promote initiatives to strengthen relations with Cuba and its people, in pursuit of the preservation of peace.
