“Uruguayan workers cannot remain indifferent to this attack against our Argentine brothers”, the call states.
It adds that the demonstration will express solidarity with the labor unions of Argentina and the rejection of “anti-popular measures, which threaten the life, rights and freedom of workers and the Argentine people in general.”
PiT-CNT denounced Milei’s policies, and mentioned the privatization of public companies, disinvestment in education and the dismantling of public services, the criminalization of protests and the labor reform, which will have negative impacts on “millions of people, among whom are thousands of Uruguayan compatriots” who live in Argentina.
The protest in Montevideo will coincide with the mobilization and strike convened in Argentina by social movements, unions and political parties against the package of measures promoted by the new government.
