The highest temperatures were recorded on Tuesday in four departments in the east of the country in contrast with low temperatures in recent weeks, due to cold fronts from the north that lowered the temperatures to 7-9 degrees Celsius.
The MARN thermal measuring stations reported that on Tuesday morning and at noon, several towns and zones in the east were affected by a new period of high temperatures close to 40 degrees Celsius, the institution noted.
The biggest consequences of the heat wave were reported in Osicala, in Morazán, with 39.7 degrees, San Miguel with 38.3, Puente Cuscatlán, between San Vicente and Usulután, with 37.5, Jucuarán, in Usulután, with 37.3, and Santa Cruz Porrillo, in San Vicente, with 37.2 degrees.
