FANB informed of military personnel expelled from the army

Caracas, Jan 24 (Prensa Latina) The Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) reported the demotion and expulsion of 33 active and reserve military personnel involved in conspiracies against the Venezuelan State, people and Government.

A press release of the institution indicated this Wednesday they proceeded to comply with the order of the commander in chief of the FANB and President of the Republic Nicolás Maduro, in the Patio de Honor of the Ministry of Defense, in Fort Tiuna, in Caracas.

He pointed out that the expelled officers, among which there are a major general, two colonels, six lieutenant colonels, nine majors, two captains and six first lieutenants, among others, were involved in “criminal and terrorist actions” to attempt against the legitimately constituted system of government.

The text of the Venezuelan General in Chief and Minister of Defense, Vladimir Padrino, indicated these acts even contemplated the assassination of the President, “which represents acts of treason against the Homeland”.

The note specified that this action, in accordance with the traditions and moral ethical codes that characterize the FANB, are executed since the aforementioned individuals “are not worthy of belonging to our ranks”, for having violated with their misconduct the national and military Laws and Regulations.

He affirmed this decision is understood as an exemplary measure, without detriment to the criminal consequences of their crimes.

“Zero tolerance with traitors!”, the statement remarked.

Padrino announced yesterday that a group of military members of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces were expelled and demoted.

In his X account, the military high command pointed out that the committed acts go “against the republican and democratic principles”.
