Argentines mourn death of one Plaza de Mayo’s mother

Buenos Aires, Jan 24 (Prensa Latina) Argentine organizations, politicians, and citizens expressed their sorrow on Wednesday over the death of Sara Rus, a member of the Mothers of the Plaza de Mayo Association-Founding Line and a Nazism survivor.

Rus was born in Poland in 1927. Being a teenager, she experienced the horrors of the Auschwitz concentration camp along with her mother.

In 1948, she traveled to Argentina, where she settled and gave birth to her son Daniel, who was arrested and disappeared during the last civil-military dictatorship in this country (1976-1983).

She died one day before her 97th birthday.

We sadly paid our last respects to Sara Rus, a mother and an Auschwitz survivor. She arrived in Argentina in 1948, and the dictatorship disappeared her son in 1977. Until we see you again, comrade! We will continue to build memory so those crimes against humanity cease, the Grandmothers of Plaza de Mayo Association wrote in a post on social media.
