The demonstration and strike, called by the General Confederation of Labor under the motto “The homeland is not for sale,” comes 45 days after President Javier Milei took office.
Despite an anti-protest protocol implemented by Security Minister Patricia Bullrich, demonstrators took to the streets with banners and slogans to protest against an adjustment plan, a decree of necessity and urgency, and a package of laws presented by Milei.
Minister, if strikes will not stop you, we will not be stopped by sticks. If you talk about accomplices and corrupt people, you better look at those who are part of your government, those who cheated us with the International Monetary Fund to get 45 billion dollars, condemning our people to poverty, ATE General Secretary Rodolfo Aguiar said in response to a publication from Bullrich.
Aguiar stressed that participants in the demonstration are demanding labor rights.
