The meeting took place on Monday at the Joint Chiefs of Staff Headquarters in the Pakistani city of Rawalpindi, according to a press release from the Internal Public Relations Service cited by the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP).

During the meeting, issues related to bilateral security, defense cooperation and regional and international security environment were discussed, the source reported. “China-Pakistan relations are described by both countries as an all-weather strategic cooperative partnership and iron brotherhood, which is unbreakable and time-tested,” he said.

Islamabad and Beijing issued a bilateral statement ratifying the priority of ties for both governments regarding the visit to China of the interim Prime Minister of Pakistan, Anwaar ul Haq Kakar, in October 2023.

The Pakistani side stressed that Pakistan-China ties are the cornerstone of its foreign policy.

Both sides reiterated that they will continue to view the bilateral relationship from a strategic and long-term perspective, advance together on the path of development, and accelerate the construction of an even closer China-Pakistan Community of Shared Future in the new era.
