Lebanese resistance attacks Meron Israeli base for the second time

Beirut, Jan 23 (Prensa Latina) The Lebanese Resistance (Hizbullah) confirmed the attack for the second time against the Meron Air Observation Base on Mount Jarmaq, the highest peak to the north of Israel.

Hizbullah stressed in a statement that the operation was carried out at 10:50 local time as part of the response to recent killings in Lebanon and Syria, and repeated attacks on civilians and homes in southern border villages.

Hizbullah announced that it used a large number of missiles against the Israeli base, in which all air aggressions towards Syria, Lebanon, Türkiye, Cyprus and the northern part of the Eastern Mediterranean basin were organized, coordinated and managed.

The Lebanese Resistance first hit the Meron base over 15 days ago, as it is Israel’s only surveillance and air control center in the north of the country, in initial response to the assassination of the deputy head of the Hamas Political Bureau, Saleh Al-Arouri, and his companions on January 2nd in the southern suburbs of Beirut.

Lebanese affairs analyst Abbas Fneis highlighted that Hizbullah evaded all Israeli surveillance and used long-range rocket systems with precision and destructive capability in the operation.

The Resistance also announced at dawn the launch of rockets against a group of Israeli soldiers gathered at Cobra Hill.

Since Hizbullah opened the southern Lebanese front on October 8th, it has carried out over 722 operations in a radius of more than 100 kilometers against all Israeli positions and border outposts.

In more than 100 days, Resistance fighters attacked concentrations of Israeli forces, vehicles and drones, and launched rockets towards Israeli settlements in response to crimes against Lebanese civilians and in solidarity with the people of Gaza.
