The head of State began his tour in the municipality of San Luis, and was accompanied by the Secretary of Organization of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC), Roberto Morales, and local authorities.
According to the Presidency of the Republic on its X account, Díaz-Canel visited the new Tobacco-Improvince Center, which will start up operations in May.
In that institution, the president expressed interested in the working conditions.
The second item on Díaz-Canel’s agenda was the Celia Sánchez Manduley children’s house, which has capacity for 50 children and benefits the families of the Río Feo People’s Council.
Díaz-Canel visited the Giraldo Valdés Credit and Services Cooperative, where he met with tobacco producers about the prestige that the distinctive Cuban product in the world.
He also visited the José Martí community, in the People’s Urban Council, which has 26 new houses where 89 people live. The Presidency explained that Díaz-Canel also visited and met with the residents of those homes, whom were affected by Hurricane Ian in 2022.
