China welcomes progress in relations between Iran-Pakistan

Beijing, Jan 23 (Prensa Latina) China welcomed this Tuesday the positive steps in the Iranian and Pakistani relations and reiterated its support for the two countries to continue friendly consultations.

Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Wang Wenbin urged the two countries to enhance mutual trust and deepen cooperation through dialogue.

“We are willing to strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation with Iran and Pakistan to safeguard regional peace, stability, and jointly development,” Wang added.

Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry informed that Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian will visit Pakistan on January 29 at Islamabad’s invitation.

Pakistani Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani and his Iranian counterpart also agreed on the return of ambassadors to their respective posts on January 26. The reciprocal attacks by Iran and Pakistan, reported in recent days, added fuel to a turbulent situation in the Middle East over the Gaza conflict, a warning reiterated by the Chinese Foreign Ministry and the United Nations.
