“It will mark the end of the preparatory period and the transition to the main stage of capital construction of the power plant’s all units,” Putin said.

Putin noted in October that this was a flagship project on the African continent.

“Russia is focused not only on the construction of the power plant but also on working with Egyptian experts to establish an entire industry starting from scratch,” he added.

El-Dabaa is the first nuclear power plant in Egypt to be built by Rosatom in the Matrouh Governorate on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea about 300 kilometers northwest of Cairo.
