The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Migrants called on US and the EU to recognize the Palestinian State and support efforts to accept its full membership in the UN.
The Foreign Ministry also condemned the refusal of Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to create an independent Palestinian state and criticized his “colonial ambitions and racism.” “It is time for the international community to impose sanctions on Netanyahu and his coalition partners,” it stressed.
It also blamed Israel for “the spiral of wars, violence and humanitarian catastrophe that has befallen on our people.”
On Sunday, Palestinian presidential spokesman Nabil Abu Rudeina urged the United States to take a clear stance in the face of Netanyahu’s refusal to negotiate, while intensifying its aggression against the occupied territories.
“Washington is obliged to recognize the State of Palestine, not just talk about it, and this is the right time to do so”, the spokesman said in a statement in which he assured that Netanyahu is not interested in regional peace and stability.
