Pakistan and China agree to enhance views on economic partnership

Islamabad, Jan 22 (Prensa Latina) Pakistan and China agreed to enhance focus on high-quality advancements in industry, agriculture, information technology, and science through the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

The agreement to ensure socio-economic benefits for the people was reached during the 4th meeting of CPEC’s Joint Working Group on International Cooperation and Coordination held in Islamabad, Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) informed.

Foreign Secretary Muhammad Syrus Sajjad Qazi and Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Sun Weidong, who chaired the meeting, agreed with satisfaction for the progress of bilateral partnership since the last meeting of the Joint Working Group, which was held virtually on July 21, 2022.

They underscored CPEC’s role in strengthening international and regional connectivity, while appreciating this open benchmark project of inclusive nature.

Qazi and Sun agreed on sharing best practices and creating intellectual knowledge for developing CPEC and the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) through enhanced international communication and cooperation.
