China´s Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin also condemned Washington’s coercion of other nations to repress Chinese companies.
According to Wenbin, for some U.S. politicians “anything promoted from China can be a threat and must be stopped by all means”.
As he explained, Washington accuses Chinese technology manufacturers of leaving a “rear door” in their products.
“Perhaps shirts and socks are the only Chinese exports that don’t threaten the United States,” he added.
Wang saw this as pure bullying and hegemonism, which “breaks the rules, plays dirty with competitors and deprives other countries of their legitimate right to development.”
China recently accused the United States of unjustifiably cracking down on domestic semiconductor companies and called these acts a sign of economic coercion.
Washington placed telecom equipment firms in a blacklist that bans their products from entering the U.S. market.
Bilateral tension over trade disagreements was one of major issues of debates between Chinese President Xi Jinping and President Joe Biden past November 2023.
