Spokesman Abu Rudeina calls for recognition of Palestinian State

Ramallah, Jan 21 (Prensa Latina) The Palestinian presidential spokesman Nabil Abu Rudeina on Sunday called on the United States to take a clear stance ahead of Israel's refusal to negotiate while intensifying aggression over Palestine.

Washington is bound to recognize the State of Palestine, not just to talk about it, and this is the right time to do it so, Rudeina said in a statement.

Abu Rudeina assured that Israel´s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is not interested in peace and regional stability.

He recalled several Security Council and UN General Assembly resolutions on this issue.

The spokesman on Saturday strongly condemned Netanyahu´s statements who rejected the establishment of an independent state in Gaza and the West Bank.

The world must recognize a sovereign Palestinian State on the June 4, 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital, statements of denunciation of the neighboring nation alone are no longer enough.

In a speech to his nation, Netanyahu said on Friday that whether this international demand is realized “there will be no security and stability in the region” and warned that as long as he is at the helm of the government this will never happen.
